BadLuck Tano is a cozy management game based on the very real misfortunes of my friend Tano, who is currently surviving what should have been a simple renovation of his first family home.

Unfortunately for him, every week seems to bring a new disaster: delays, budget overruns, mysterious leaks, suspicious contractors, surprise repairs, and enough stress to power a small city. As a friend, I should probably have offered emotional support. Instead, I made a game about it.

You have 10 weeks to complete the renovation while managing workers, budgets, unexpected disasters, stress levels, family relationships, and the endless stream of surprises that every renovation seems to generate.

Hire contractors, negotiate prices, assign crews to rooms, deal with leaks, hidden problems, questionable workmanship, and try to keep Tano's mood, health, and family life from collapsing before the project is finished.

A Personal Project

This game was developed as a fun side project with Babylon.js, which remains one of my favorite tools for rapid game prototyping on the web.

The story, many of the situations, and even some of the characters are inspired by real events from my friend Tano's first-home renovation journey. (Tano we love U maiFriend)

Good luck. You'll need it.
